Bilingual Medical Assistant – Outpatient Vascular (Cath Lab / Pre-Post Op)

Position Overview

We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Medical Assistant to join our outpatient vascular team supporting Pre/Post-Op and Cath Lab services. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, clinically strong, and comfortable in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care in Pre/Post-Op and Cath Lab settings
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide pre- and post-procedure education
  • Collect and document patient history, medications, allergies, and vital signs in EMR
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation before, during, and after procedures
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms, perform EKGs, and track hemodynamic data
  • Maintain monitoring lines and assess cardiac, respiratory, and blood pressure status
  • Assist with emergency procedures including CPR and defibrillation as needed
  • Complete procedural documentation, including indications and complications
  • Support Joint Commission readiness and compliance initiatives
  • Maintain logs, perform equipment checks, and ensure supply inventory is stocked
  • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to support quality patient outcomes
  • Assist with consultations and may serve as a scribe when needed

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a physician office, surgery center, or hospital setting (required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (must be maintained)
  • Experience in vascular, cardiac, or procedural settings preferred
  • Strong EMR and documentation skills
  • Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a clinical setting requiring physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and prolonged standing
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment, including X-ray lead apron
  • Exposure to biohazards (e.g., bodily fluids) and radiation
  • Ability to travel between Annapolis and Greenbelt clinic locations

Schedule

  • Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
  • Schedule may vary based on procedural volume

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
