Overview
As the Bilingual Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist, you are the face of the company for every new team member. You will manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, ensuring our field and office staff are equipped, informed, and supported. This role requires a high-energy communicator who can seamlessly pivot between administrative compliance and hands-on field outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide candidates through the hiring process including drug tests, background checks, I-9 completion, and onboarding paperwork.
- Perform new employee orientation for all employees keeping material current and relevant in both English and Spanish.
- Coordinate with internal teams to finalize onboarding logistics and training for new employees.
- Ensure new hires have access to necessary systems, uniforms/PPE, and feel supported in their new roles.
- Communicate benefit eligibility to new hires and act as a liaison with the HR team to ensure all enrollment questions are addressed.
- Manage the employee identification process, including initial ID issuance, periodic photo updates, and the secure recovery of credentials for terminated employees.
- Effectively and accurately, translate during employee meetings, training, discipline, and grievance process ensuring confidentiality.
- Perform field outreach by traveling to job sites to meet with employees, collecting HR paperwork, and deliver office communications. (A company vehicle will be provided.)
- Conduct 30, 60 and 90-day post-hire check-ins with new team members to confirm onboarding success.
- Prepare a list of vetted applicants tailored to hiring manager's needs.
- Work on other HR functions and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant HR policies and procedures.
- Accurate and timely translation of company documents, postings, signage as well as external publications.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Native or professional-level fluency in English and Spanish is required. Must be able to translate technical training, legal documents, and sensitive disciplinary conversations accurately and empathetically.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting human resources 9irectly or indirectly
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field is a plus.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Strong skills in Excel
- Sharp attention to detail in auditing and processing employment paperwork to ensure legal compliance.
- Strong public speaking skills for facilitating orientations; ability to adjust communication style for both corporate managers and field-based crews.
- A "people person" who can build trust and ensure new hires feel supported and heard during their first 90 days.
- Proven ability to handle highly confidential information, particularly during grievances, disciplinary actions, and benefit discussions.
- Ability to manage multiple onboarding timelines simultaneously without missing logistics like PPE, system access, or start dates.
- Possess a high level of professionalism, builds trust and maintains confidentiality
- Exercise considerable judgement and discretion when dealing with all levels of employees
- Highly organized with great follow-through
- A clean driving record is required to operate the company vehicle for field visits.
