Responsibilities:
The Risk Assessor provides Family Violence Option (FVO) Risk Assessments, service recommendations, and waiver recommendations that are designed to lead to independence and employment-directed activities.
This is a work from home position with occasional travel in Northern NJ for in-person assessments. Candidates must reside in Northern NJ. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related field and have a New Jersey Domestic Violence Specialist Certification, OR a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or other related field with comprehensive knowledge of domestic violence. At least 2 years’ experience working directly with individuals impacted by domestic violence is required.
Professional-level fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required. Candidate must be able to translate complex legal and safety concepts into culturally accessible Spanish for survivors of domestic violence.
The Bilingual Risk Assessor provides critical, culturally responsive risk assessments to determine the need for DV services and waiver recommendations. Risk Assessors should have the capability to assess the recipient’s willingness to engage in services, general level of functioning, changing needs, risk of ongoing family violence, crisis intervention, education/employment opportunities, and safety planning.
