Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Medical (Spanish Speaking) Assistant to join our Orthopaedics Team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position involves assisting healthcare professionals in a clinic atmosphere. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care while maintaining a smooth workflow within the clinic. This job will require you to travel between our offices in Oakbrook Terrace, Schaumburg and Elgin at times

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
  • Perform basic patient care tasks, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for examinations
  • Perform intake on the patients and documenting patient information accurately in the EMR system
  • Order x-rays
  • Draw up injections
  • Removal of sutures and staples
  • Handle basic wound care/dressing changes
  • Triaging/answering messages for the providers
  • Making post op calls
  • Dispense DME bracing
  • Completion of disability paperwork
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Sterilization of instrumentation
  • Support the healthcare team in managing patient flow
  • Provide patient education as directed by the providers
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Ordering inventory
  • Applying and removing casts
  • Listen and empathize with the patients
  • Build relationships with the patients so that they remember a positive experience at our facility

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in Orthopedics is a plus
  • Medical terminology is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Basic understand of anatomy and physiology, particularly related to the musculoskeletal system
  • Drawing blood samples

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
