Bilingual Special Education Preschool Teacher

The Life Skills Preschool is looking for a bilingual (Spanish speaking preferred) early childhood Special Education Preschool Teacher to join our team of exceptional educators. Life Skills seeks to provide hands on learning experiences for all students and help prepare them for a successful future. Our school is located in a beautiful residential area in Whitestone-Queens. Ample parking available.

Qualifications:

• NYS Teaching Certification Special Education (birth to Gr.2) is required. Study Plans welcome!
• Bilingual Certification is required. Study Plans welcomed!
• Experience is required!

Duties include:

• Develop and implement activities and lessons based on the curriculum and to meet the individual and group needs of children in the classroom. Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum is a plus.
• Create an environment that responds to the children’s individual developmental levels and their needs and interests
• Maintain the daily schedule and classroom routines to ensure a consistent and routine experience for the children.
• Administer assessments and maintain proper documentation
• Maintain stable/supportive relationships with the children and their families through excellent communication skills
• Assist with transition planning
• Maintain quality supervision of students
• Manage classroom materials and provide educational support, guidance, and training to Assistant Teachers
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training
• Maintain proper documentation required from the program
