Job Title: Therapist (Bilingual/Spanish) Behavioral Health

Reports to: Behavioral Health Co-Directors
Job Summary/Purpose:
The Therapist provides comprehensive, culturally responsive mental health and substance misuse services, supporting the mission of Servicios de La Raza. This role delivers individual, couples, and family therapy, facilitates group sessions, conducts assessments, and implements treatment plans using independent clinical judgment. The Therapist maintains compliance with HIPAA, BHA, and state regulations, coordinates care with internal and external partners, participates in clinical supervision and consultation, and ensures documentation and billable service goals are met. Through direct client services, collaboration, and community engagement, this position advances client well-being, promotes equitable care, and strengthens the agency’s impact in underserved communities.
Job Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy services via telehealth and in-person, applying professional judgment to tailor interventions to client needs
- Facilitate groups at office locations and other off-site designated locations, adapting content and approach to participant needs
- Conduct individualized assessments, determine diagnoses, and manage client discharges
- Perform treatment planning, review progress, and implement clinical interventions for mental health and/or substance misuse, exercising discretion and professional judgment
- Maintain timely and detailed clinical records of all client interactions and other documentation in accordance with best practice, HIPAA, BHA, and state regulations
- Provide psychoeducation regarding issues relevant to mental health and substance misuse
- Deliver culturally responsive interventions and treatments
- Coordinate care with internal and external entities, leveraging judgment to prioritize and implement appropriate referrals
- Complete all necessary client and department documentation according to SDLR standards
- Meet billable service goals according to SDLR standards
- Participate in clinical supervision, consultation groups, and other weekly meetings, applying feedback to improve practice
- All members of the SDLR workforce are expected to support the agency’s community outreach, civic engagement, and recruitment efforts
- Support the agency’s fundraising objectives, which may include tasks such as active fundraising, grant development, solicitation of donations, agency ambassadorship, and informational outreach, and public speaking
- Commitment to and experience with equity, cultural relevance, diversity, social justice, and disparity reduction practices with persons of color, agencies of color, and underserved communities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, agency partners, and the public
Required Education, experience and Credentialing:
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
- State licensure as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) preferred
- State licensure candidacy required

Working Environment and Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment
