Biller/Claims follow-up Specialist

The Eye Institute is looking for a dependable, team oriented person to join us. The Biller/Claims follow-up Specialist is responsible for working a/r reports, reviewing denied and underpaid claims, correcting claims and filing appeals. Must have experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding, proper use of modifiers and clear understanding of insurance EOB's. Must be able to work with physician offices and staff to obtain correct billing information. Assist with answering phones and communicate with staff and patients regarding accounts.

Knowledge, skills, abilities required for the position:

• Minimum 3 years previous medical billing and claims follow-up experience.
• Experience in reading and understanding medical EOB's, modifiers, coordination of benefits
• Must be dependable and able to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of insurance and billing policies for Medicare, Medicaid, Indian Health and Commercial Insurance plans.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
