Job Overview

The Billing Analyst II manages complex customer billing cases, verifies contract-driven billing accuracy, and serves as a key customer-facing representative for escalated issues. This role partners cross-functionally across Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Finance while supporting monthly billing execution, process improvements, and operational excellence.

What You Will Do

Billing and Customer Case Management

  • Manage complex customer billing cases from intake through resolution, including disputes, errors, missed billing, and contractual inconsistencies
  • Review customer contracts to understand rate structures, billing terms, and exception logic; interpret intent beyond step-by-step processes
  • Reconcile customer accounts to validate billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead face-to-face or virtual customer conversations for escalated issues, providing clear explanations and driving resolution

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Relationship Management

  • Build strong partnerships with Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Finance
  • Work closely with the Customer Success Group on escalations and customer communication strategies
  • Serve as a billing SME for cross-functional projects, pilot programs, and contract structure reviews

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and root causes within billing and customer-facing workflows
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen accuracy, reduce customer friction, and enhance internal controls
  • Provide insights to leadership around recurring issues and system enhancements
  • Support continuous improvement efforts across Finance Operations and the customer lifecycle

Billing Execution

  • Prepare monthly billing file uploads per close timeline (Business Days 1–2)
  • Prepare billing templates for new customers at go-live
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with internal and external customers

What We Are Looking For

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5+ years of billing, accounting, or finance related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret complex contracts and understand nuance, intent, and non-standard scenarios
  • Customer-obsessed mindset with proven success handling difficult or escalated customer interactions
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing outcomes
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and resolve issues independently
Preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong experience with Salesforce and enterprise billing workflows
  • Experience in a B2B SaaS or technology environment
  • Process improvement or project management experience
