Suburban Hematology Oncology Associates (SHOA) is seeking an experienced Billing & Coding Supervisor to lead our coding and billing operations within a growing oncology practice.
This role is responsible for overseeing coding accuracy, billing workflows, staff development, compliance initiatives, and operational performance across the Revenue Cycle department. The ideal candidate combines strong technical coding expertise with leadership skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support billing and coding staff within the Revenue Cycle department
- Ensure accurate assignment of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Monitor coding quality, billing accuracy, productivity, and compliance standards
- Conduct coding audits and support provider documentation improvement initiatives
- Train, mentor, and cross-train coding and billing team members
- Review operational backlogs and assist with workflow management
- Collaborate with providers and clinical teams to clarify documentation
- Maintain current knowledge of coding regulations, payer requirements, and reimbursement updates
- Coordinate internal provider coding audits and compliance activities
- Support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Active CPC Certification
- Minimum 3+ years of medical coding and billing experience
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer guidelines
- Leadership, coaching, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- CHONC Certification
- Oncology or specialty practice experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- College degree or equivalent leadership experience
