Billing and Collections Manager

Billing & Collections Manager

J. Singer Law Group, PLLC – New York, NY (Financial District)
Full-Time | Primarily In-Office (Limited Remote Flexibility)

J. Singer Law Group is a fast-growing New York law firm focused on complex financial restructuring, merchant cash advance (MCA) defense, bankruptcy, and high-stakes commercial litigation. We represent business owners and individuals navigating aggressive lenders, multi-layered debt structures, and sophisticated financial disputes.

Our cases move quickly. Our clients are under pressure. Our firm operates with urgency, accountability, and precision.

We are seeking a disciplined, proactive Billing & Collections Manager to take ownership of the firm’s accounts receivable, payment structures, and revenue collection systems.

This is not a bookkeeping position. This is a revenue-impact role with direct visibility to firm leadership and real operational responsibility.

The Role

You will be responsible for building, managing, and enforcing a structured billing and collections process across the firm.

Revenue & Accounts Receivable Oversight

  • Monitor and actively manage all outstanding receivables
  • Implement structured follow-up and escalation protocols
  • Reduce aging AR and improve cash flow predictability
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding retainers and payment plans
  • Coordinate with attorneys regarding payment status and strategy

Billing Management

  • Oversee retainer tracking and replenishment
  • Manage payment plan compliance
  • Review invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure billing systems and CRM entries are clean and current
  • Prepare weekly and monthly AR reporting for firm leadership

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Develop and refine collections workflows
  • Improve tracking, automation, and reporting systems
  • Assist leadership with revenue forecasting and accountability metrics
  • Help implement operational benchmarks tied to firm growth

This role requires someone who is organized, confident discussing money, and comfortable enforcing structure.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is comfortable having direct, structured financial conversations
  • Can enforce accountability with professionalism
  • Does not avoid difficult collection discussions
  • Understands that cash flow discipline is mission-critical
  • Takes ownership of outcomes, not just assigned tasks
  • Is proactive, organized, and detail-oriented

Prior experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or financial services environment is strongly preferred.

If you view billing and collections as strategic revenue management — not clerical processing — you will thrive here.

Compensation, Growth & Expectations

  • Competitive base salary up to $70,000+, commensurate with experience
  • Structured performance-based bonus tied to measurable collections and AR benchmarks
  • Paid time off
  • Opportunity for advancement as the firm continues to expand

While the base salary is structured responsibly, this role includes meaningful performance upside. Bonuses will be tied to objective financial metrics such as:

  • Reduction in aging accounts receivable
  • Improvement in payment plan compliance rates
  • Timely retainer replenishment
  • Consistent revenue collection benchmarks

High performers who drive measurable financial results will be recognized and rewarded accordingly.

This position offers direct visibility to firm leadership and the opportunity to grow into broader financial and operational management responsibilities as the firm scales.

Work Environment

  • Full-Time: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Primarily in-office (Financial District, NYC)
  • Limited remote flexibility based on performance and firm needs

We operate in a professional, fast-paced environment where accountability and initiative are valued.

If you are disciplined, confident, and motivated by measurable results — and you want your performance to directly impact firm growth — we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume along with a brief statement explaining why you would be a strong fit for this role.
