Billing Appeals Specialist for Las Vegas Law Firm

Hooks, Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Appeals Specialist to join our growing Billing Department. This position plays a critical role in maximizing reimbursement by managing insurance claim denials, preparing appeal submissions, and ensuring accurate and timely resolution of billing issues.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical and written communication skills. This individual thrives in both independent and collaborative environments, can effectively prioritize competing deadlines, and maintains exceptional attention to detail while working in a fast-paced setting.

$45,000+ annually salary

• Review denied claims or underpaid claims
• Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
• Research payer policies and denial reasons
• Track appeal statuses and follow up with payers
• Communicate with the Billing Manager to gather needed information
• Maintain accurate documentation in billing systems
• Audit clients to ensure appeals are handled promptly

• 1+ year experience in law office billing, claims, or appeals
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Knowledge of denial codes & payer guidelines (preferred)
• Auditing skills (strongly preferred)
• Must reside in the Southern Nevada area, as this position is in the office
