Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper & Billing Specialist to support the financial operations of our Third-Party Administration (TPA) business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing invoicing and client billing processes, and ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with data, and understands the nuances of billing within a healthcare or benefits administration environment.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and internal accounts on a regular basis
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports (as well as ad hoc reports for the President as requested)
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting as needed
- Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
Client Billing
- Generate and distribute accurate client invoices based on plan activity, enrollment, and contractual fee structures
- Manage monthly billing processes
- Track and resolve billing discrepancies and/or client inquiries in a timely manner
- Coordinate with internal teams (claims, account management, EDI) to ensure alignment between services delivered and billed
- Maintain billing schedules and ensure invoices are sent on time
Reporting & Analysis
- Provide reporting on billing trends, revenue, and client activity
- Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy and efficiency
Systems & Process Management
- Utilize accounting and billing software to maintain records and generate invoices
- Continuously improve processes related to invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (TPA, healthcare, or insurance experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliation processes
- Experience with Excel, including formulas and data analysis
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Sensitivity to private financial data is required
- Ability to communicate clearly with both internal teams and clients

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
