Job Description:
Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by supporting the Compliance Department and other CHAS Health staff as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides Compliance department with analytical support as part of billing and coding compliance and monitoring activities, including drafting reports and presentations.
Supports Billing Compliance department with auditing and monitoring tasks related to billing and coding compliance.
Assists with documentation collection, review, and quality assurance for department as needed.
Facilitates the Corrective Action Plan process.
Provides general assistance with state and federal compliance requirements.
Monitors department help ticket system and completes tasks as assigned.
Conducts research and drafts memorandums to Billing Compliance Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience: One year of work experience in health care privacy or compliance role required. Current/valid medical coding certification from the American Health Information Management Association or American Academy of Professional Coders required.
Skills: Computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office suite, required. Excellent analytical skills, written and verbal skills, and organizational skills required. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Ability to work under tight time constraints, work independently, provide excellent summaries of projects, and manage changing priorities required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required. Valid driver license and insurance required.
Physical Demands:
Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
