Key responsibilities
- Quantity take-off and estimation: Study the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and extract quantities from project drawings.
- Bill preparation and certification: Prepare and certify interim (RA) bills for clients and subcontractors, including preparing rate analyses for extra items.
- Bill verification: Verify and certify bills and invoices submitted by subcontractors and suppliers.
- Material reconciliation: Calculate theoretical consumption of materials like steel and cement and reconcile it with the actual usage to check for excess consumption or wastage.
- Financial record-keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all billing transactions and project financials.
- Site coordination: Conduct random physical checks at the site to verify work done and coordinate with site engineers to track progress and billing milestones.
- Client communication: Communicate with clients to provide billing information and resolve any billing-related issues.
- Software proficiency: Utilize software like SAP or other ERP systems for data entry and processing of bills and invoices.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles and billing processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP is a plus.
- Knowledge of Indian Standard (IS) codes and rate analysis.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- The role may require a degree in Civil Engineering and some experience in both site execution and billing.
