Job Summary
Kienbaum Hardy Viviano Pelton & Forrest, P.L.C, an employment and commercial litigation law firm, is actively seeking a Billing and Accounts Receivable Manager for our downtown Birmingham office.

The Billing Manager is responsible for managing client billing and the monitoring of accounts receivable balances. He or she will work independently to prepare client invoices generated through our accounting software from pre-billing to finalization, and accounts receivable follow up. Other responsibilities include generating reports and documentation to support the financial and business functions of the firm. The position offers the potential for future growth in assuming other responsibilities such as benefits administration and payroll.

Duties

  • Performing all aspects of the billing process, including processing of pre-bills for attorney review, making adjustments as necessary, and submitting invoices to clients via email or eBilling.
  • Maintaining master billing list of client contact information with specific billing and LEDES file requirements.
  • Supporting managing member and business manager by producing regular weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as they pertain to receivables, attorney and client productivity, cash flow and budgeting.
  • Performing basic accounting functions such as the processing of incoming checks, entering payments into accounting software, and digital bank deposits.
  • Performing accounts payable duties such as maintaining vendor files, entering accounts payable into accounting software, processing checks for payment, and reconciling receipts with expense reports.

Education and Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, with an emphasis in business and/or accounting,
  • Two or more years billing and/or accounting experience preferred.

Other Qualifications and Requirements

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to speak effectively with employees, clients and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create and analyze custom reports on a routine basis.
  • Experience with accounting and document management software.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
