Billing Manager — Physical Therapy

Theravolve is a multi-clinic/growing physical therapy practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We're seeking an experienced Billing Manager to lead our revenue cycle operations and ensure accurate, timely reimbursement across our clinics.

Position Summary

The Billing Manager oversees all aspects of the billing and collections process, manages the billing team, and ensures compliance with payer requirements and healthcare regulations. This role is critical to the financial health of the practice and works cross-functionally with clinical, front-office, and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full revenue cycle: charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, denials, and collections
• Supervise, train, and evaluate billing staff across all locations
• Monitor key metrics (days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial rate, net collection rate) and report to leadership
• Ensure accurate coding and compliance with CPT, ICD-10, and payer-specific PT billing rules
• Oversee insurance verification, prior authorizations, and credentialing coordination
• Manage relationships with payers and resolve escalated claim disputes
• Audit accounts for accuracy and identify opportunities to reduce denials and improve cash flow
• Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policy changes affecting PT reimbursement
• Develop and maintain billing SOPs and workflows

Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical billing experience, with 1+ years in a supervisory/management role
• Physical therapy or rehab billing experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding, modifiers (e.g., GP, KX, 59), and PT-specific billing rules
• Familiarity with WebPT, Raintree and Waystar
• Understanding of Medicare therapy thresholds, MIPS, and payer authorization requirements
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
