The BIM Layout Designer will be responsible for Pre Planning a project, working with the Operations team, using knowledge of electrical theory and construction practices. Providing the BIM/CAD team with a marked up layout to be BIM coordinated and turned into Field shop drawings.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Have knowledge and application of the National Electrical Codes.

Have knowledge and application of relevant codes and standards such as the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), etc.

Have knowledge of electrical construction material, components and practices.

Knowledge and application of Article 500, Hazardous (Classified) Locations.

Able to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.

Able to perform voltage drop calculations.

Able to route conduit and cable tray

Able to calculate tray fill and locate/sizing of pullboxes.

Able to determine distribution, branch panel and motor control center loading.

Have knowledge of lighting control systems and be able to produce detailed layout schematics and shop drawings.

Help QA/QC finished Shop drawings as well as reviewing conduit runs inside the BIM Model for best practices and constructability.

Help layout and design Prefabrication opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:

Must be computer proficient, including MS Office & Bluebeam programs.

Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints and project specifications.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing.

Capable of working on multiple projects concurrently.

Ability to complete task with accuracy and strong attention to detail while meeting aggressive project schedules.

Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

Mentor and train Virtual Designers on Electrical Construction theory.

Knowledge of Autodesk production software (AutoCAD MEP/Revit/NavisWorks) is a plus. (We will provide on the job training).

Ability to pass a drug screen.

EDUCATION & QULIFICATIONS:

High School diploma/GED required
-
2-5 Years’ Field electrical experience – Field Foreman or higher experience required.

Electrical licensed Journeyman required, Masters Electrical License is a plus.
