Healthcare at 3D Systems is a state-of-the-art, fast-paced work environment that specializes in creating patient-specific medical tools derived from advanced medical imaging technologies. We are currently seeking a full-time Entry Level BioCAD Engineer for our Medical Imaging and Modeling department in Littleton. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing incoming patient-specific medical imaging data and performing medical image processing for use in pre-surgical planning. This role has an onsite work schedule requiring the person to be in the onsite location 5 days a week.

What You Will Do

Analyze Medical Imaging Data - Review patient CT and MRI studies in DICOM format to identify and isolate anatomies of interest for surgical planning applications

Create 3D Models Using CAD Software - Utilize advanced CAD tools to manipulate 3D files, combine multiple datasets, and develop patient-specific models for pre-surgical planning

Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams - Work closely with engineers, clinicians, and project managers to ensure accurate delivery of patient-specific medical devices and anatomical models

Maintain Quality Documentation - Keep detailed records of each case in accordance with the company's Quality Management System, ensuring traceability and compliance standards
Qualifications
What You Will Bring

Educational Foundation - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Design, or related technical field with demonstrated coursework in CAD and 3D modeling applications

Technical Skills - Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and 3D visualization tools, with understanding of digital file formats and 3D printing principles

Experience Level - Entry-level position welcoming recent graduates or professionals, preferred introductory experience in medical imaging, CAD design, or related technical roles

Core Competencies - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail for quality assurance, and excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred Experience

CAD & 3D Modeling - Advanced experience with CAD software and 3D design applications

Medical Imaging Software - Familiarity with CT/MRI modalities and processing software (Mimics, OsiriX, Amira, 3D-Doctor)

Rapid Prototyping - Experience with additive manufacturing technologies (SLA, SLS, EBM, MJP, CJP)

Medical Device Knowledge - Exposure to FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and medical device compliance

Core Skills - Human anatomy knowledge, Microsoft Office proficiency, strong attention to detail, and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
