Biological Scientist (Part-Time)

Chippewa Government Solutions LLC, a Sault Tribe Inc. (“STI Federal”) company, is searching for a dynamic and skilled Part-Time Biological Scientist to be a key part of our expanding team!

What You’ll Do…

You will support our client, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), within the Influenza Division, by providing laboratory support for scientific editing activities, property and inventory management, and shipping logistics to ensure the division’s research and operational needs are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Expected Outcomes

  • Property and Inventory Management – Perform routine property and inventory management to support Government property, using current inventories, updating with new equipment, and removing old equipment, tracking and submitting documentation
  • Scientific Editing Activities – documentation editing for the Genomic Analysis Team
  • Shipping Logistical Support – initiating and tracking of specimen shipments, liaising with laboratory teams, CDC shipping department and shipping vendors

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in biomedical sciences or relevant area
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in databases regarding laboratory instrumentation and other capital equipment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and laboratory operations.
  • Background in bioinformatics or data science

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Salary Range: $25.00 – $35.00, dependent on experience.
  • Environment: Work will be performed in a climate-controlled laboratory and office environment at the CDC Roybal Campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
