Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate High School Teacher to join our STEAM School Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and be dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment for high school students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Provide instruction in Biology and Life Science to prepare students for the OST Biology Exam
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Offer academic advising and support to students on an individual basis
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and educational initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Teaching certification or license required
- Experience in classroom teaching, special education, or higher education teaching is preferred
- Proficiency in curriculum development and academic advising
- Strong skills in research laboratory work, proofreading, and scientific research

Job Specifics:
Teacher shall teach up to 30 (thirty) hours per week.
Teacher shall maintain professional expectations of timely attendance to work and assigned duties and follow established protocols for submitting leave requests and substitute lesson preparation.
Teacher shall prepare a safe and functional classroom space to enhance learning and to aid in the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Teacher shall prepare and deliver lessons reflecting STEAM learning expectations described by the AP of Academics.
Teacher shall collaborate with other teachers to prepare and deliver interdisciplinary PBL projects.
Teacher shall manage student behavior in agreement with the student handbook (e.g. school uniform policy, grading policy for suspended students, cellular phone policy, etc.).
Teacher shall collaborate with special education teachers on student Individual Education Plans to ensure all modifications are met and attend IEP/ETR meetings when requested.
Teacher shall ensure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect the safety of students, equipment, textbooks, materials, and facilities.
Teacher shall gather, manage, and file all reports, records, data, and other documents in the required timeframe (timely attendance submission for each class period)
Teacher shall gather, manage, and update assignment grades in PowerSchool(PS) weekly (if not daily) so that it stands as an accurate reflection of student progress in their courses (e.g. three grades per week min).
Teacher shall protect the confidentiality of records and other documents and comply with applicable student records laws. (FERPA, etc.)
Teacher shall coach a group of students for annual competitions when assigned.
Teacher shall supervise or organize field trips when assigned.
Teacher shall attend all staff meetings, professional development meetings, and teacher-based team meetings (e.g. Grade Level, Department, RTI meetings).
Teacher shall seek Professional Development opportunities related to the teaching assignment outside the school setting.
Teacher shall write, align, and implement curriculum for quality lesson delivery.
Teacher shall submit weekly lesson plans and grades for report cards and progress reports on deadlines prescribed by the administration.
Teacher shall submit SMART goals, course syllabi, and course grading policies before the first day of school.
Teacher shall mentor assigned teachers when assigned by the administration.
Teacher shall participate in eight (8) parent engagement activities (PEA) approved by the administration by May 1st and submit documentation after each activity when required.
Teacher shall offer and advertise after-school tutoring and log the attendees into the school’s database.
Teacher shall serve as an advisor to a group of students when assigned by Grade Chair, RTI coordinator, and/or Department Head.
Teacher shall attend meetings organized by Concept Schools when requested. These meetings could be full-day meetings on Saturdays and might be out of town. All the expenses will be paid by the School (See the School Travel Reimbursement Policy.) Advanced notification will be provided to the attendees to make the necessary arrangements.
Teacher shall attend parent/teacher conferences and be available after school for scheduled parent meetings when requested.
Teacher shall attend Open Houses for prospective parents and students when requested.
Teacher shall be available to chaperone, attend, and/or organize school activities and student organizations (e.g. school dances, fundraising events, grade-level dinners, clubs, etc.).
Teacher shall supervise lunch, hallways, and other common areas when assigned.
Teacher shall maintain meaningful communication with parents through phone calls, written correspondences, and meetings and record any communication attempt in the PS logbook.
Teacher shall maintain professional conduct with all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community representatives, etc.) in accordance with ODE Office of Professional Conduct rules and regulations.
Teacher shall stay up-to-date with all demands of digital communication skills including but not limited to proficiency in the PowerSchool applications (Schoology, etc.) and any instructional technologies germane to their academic discipline (e.g., SMARTboards, iPads, etc.)
Teacher shall attend trainings and PD sessions that are assigned by the administration.
Teacher shall perform all other duties assigned by administrator(s).

Pay: $53,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
