Position Summary

The Biology Teacher – Senior Secondary will deliver high-quality Biology instruction aligned with the Cambridge and IB Diploma Programme curricula. The role focuses on developing deep conceptual understanding, practical laboratory skills, and scientific inquiry, while preparing students for external assessments and higher education pathways.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons in accordance with Cambridge (IGCSE / AS & A Level) and IB DP curricula.
  • Develop students’ understanding of core and advanced Biology concepts, including practical and experimental skills.
  • Implement inquiry-based, student-centered teaching methodologies aligned with IB learner profile and Cambridge objectives.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning needs and academic abilities.

Assessment & Examination Preparation

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge and IB assessment criteria.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, practical evaluations, and external board examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and reports.
  • Provide timely feedback and academic guidance to students and parents.

Laboratory & Practical Work

  • Plan, conduct, and supervise laboratory experiments ensuring safety and compliance with school policies.
  • Guide students in Internal Assessments (IA), investigations, and research-based projects.
  • Maintain laboratory records, equipment, and inventory in coordination with lab staff.

Curriculum & Professional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Science department on curriculum planning, moderation, and vertical alignment.
  • Participate in curriculum review, lesson observations, and academic audits.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary learning and real-world applications of Biology.

Student Support & Pastoral Care

  • Mentor students in academic planning, research skills, and university preparation where applicable.
  • Support students’ personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Serve as a form tutor or homeroom teacher if assigned.

School Engagement & Professional Development

  • Participate actively in school events, science fairs, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and professional development workshops.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies, professional ethics, and school values.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Biology / Life Sciences or a related field.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–6 years of experience teaching Senior Secondary Biology.
  • Proven experience with Cambridge (IGCSE / AS & A Level) and/or IB DP Biology.

  • Thorough understanding of Cambridge and IB assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning platforms.

  • IB DP Biology training and Cambridge professional development certification.
  • Experience guiding students through IB Internal Assessments and Extended Essays.
  • Strong research orientation and analytical mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,888.35 - ₹50,000.00 per month
