Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Management & Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibration of all biomedical equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in medical equipment promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, service reports, and equipment history.
- Ensure timely replacement or repair of malfunctioning instruments.
2. Installation & Commissioning
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of new biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers during delivery, installation, and training phases.
- Validate equipment performance and safety compliance before use.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all equipment adheres to hospital safety policies and biomedical standards (AERB, NABH, NABL, etc.).
- Participate in internal and external audits related to biomedical equipment.
- Implement calibration and quality assurance programs as per regulatory requirements.
4. Vendor & Inventory Coordination
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and service providers for AMC/CMC renewals.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, accessories, and consumables for medical devices.
- Negotiate service contracts and monitor performance of service agencies.
5. Training & Support
- Conduct training sessions for doctors, nurses, and technicians on safe equipment usage.
- Provide on-call technical support during surgeries, procedures, or emergencies.
- Advise hospital management on technology upgrades and equipment procurement.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated asset registers for all medical devices.
- Prepare periodic reports on equipment performance, breakdowns, and service schedules.
- Participate in budgeting and capital planning for biomedical equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in a multi-speciality hospital preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in troubleshooting biomedical and diagnostic equipment (ICU, OT, Radiology, Laboratory, etc.).
- Knowledge of calibration standards, NABH documentation, and hospital safety norms.
