Job Overview:

The Biomedical Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, safety, performance, and lifecycle management of medical equipment and systems. The role ensures that all biomedical devices operate safely and efficiently in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and international healthcare standards.


Key Duties:

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair medical equipment and biomedical systems.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration according to scheduled plans.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, service reports, and asset records.
  • Support clinical staff by providing technical guidance and equipment training.
  • Participate in equipment evaluation, procurement, and acceptance testing.
  • Support accreditation, audits, and quality assurance activities related to biomedical services.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in biomedical engineering within a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical equipment, safety standards, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience with accreditation standards (e.g., CBAHI, JCI) is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
