Biomedical technician

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, calibrate, and maintain biomedical and clinical equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine safety inspections
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete timely repairs
• Maintain accurate service records, logs, and compliance documentation
• Ensure equipment meets hospital, manufacturer, and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO, Joint Commission)
• Respond promptly to equipment service calls and emergencies
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and parts procurement
• Educate clinical staff on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting
• Support equipment audits and accreditation inspections

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
• Proven experience as a Biomedical Technician or similar role
• Strong knowledge of medical devices, electronics, and troubleshooting techniques
• Familiarity with healthcare safety and regulatory requirements
• Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation
