Position Overview

  • Be the face of the Bistro—creating a welcoming, energetic atmosphere for every guest
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality food and beverage service aligned with Marriott standards
  • Balance bartending, food service, and guest engagement in a dynamic setting

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome every guest quickly and make a strong first impression
  • Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, and Bistro menu items with consistency
  • Keep service moving efficiently during high-volume periods
  • Stay ahead of guest needs—refills, check-ins, and service flow
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and well-organized bar at all times
  • Accurately enter orders and handle payments through POS
  • Work closely with front desk and hotel team to create a seamless guest experience

Service Expectations

  • Greet guests within 30 seconds—every time
  • Use upbeat, professional communication and body language
  • Anticipate needs (refills, additional orders, etc.)
  • Build rapport with repeat guests and personalize their experience
  • Maintain awareness of the room while managing multiple priorities

Bar & Safety Standards

  • Serve alcohol responsibly and monitor guest consumption
  • Follow all recipes and portion standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing bar
  • Keep certifications current and follow all compliance requirements

Schedule & Environment

  • Flexible scheduling (4–8 hour shifts)
  • Day, evening, and night shifts available
  • Weekend availability required
  • Fast-paced Bistro environment with consistent guest interaction

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1+ year customer service experience
  • 1+ year food prep or cooking experience
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktails
  • 21+ with ability to obtain alcohol certification

Preferred:

  • Bartending experience
  • Hotel or Marriott brand experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk for full shift
  • Lift up to 35 lbs
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and multitasking

Work Location

  • On-site at Courtyard Louisville Northeast
