Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Blackboard Systems Consultant (Bilingual) to support, administer, and enhance the Blackboard learning management ecosystem. This role combines functional support, technical configuration, system integration, and training delivery, working closely with faculty, students, and administrative teams. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Blackboard Learn and related modules, along with excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will support faculty in designing and delivering engaging courseware aligned with learning objectives, while providing day-to-day functional support to students, faculty, and staff using Blackboard Learn, including integrations, content collection, outcomes, and collaboration tools. Responsibilities include responding to user inquiries related to access, accounts, and system issues, and conducting consultation sessions to assist faculty with course customization and implementation.

The role involves developing and maintaining training materials, documentation, and video tutorials, as well as delivering face-to-face and remote training sessions based on instructional design principles. The consultant will install, configure, operate, and maintain Blackboard Learn and its associated products, apply patches and enhancements, and integrate Blackboard with other institutional systems.

You will analyze business and functional requirements, translate them into technical designs, and implement customized solutions that meet approved specifications. The role includes monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the Blackboard environment, diagnosing production issues, and performing root-cause analysis in collaboration with database administrators, system administrators, and functional teams.

Additional responsibilities include administering Blackboard security, implementing role-based access control, managing users and permissions, supporting architectural and performance improvements, creating vendor support tickets, and participating in change management processes. You will conduct application testing after fixes, patches, and upgrades, resolve technical issues related to configuration and performance, and maintain comprehensive technical, functional, and user documentation. Collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement are essential aspects of this role.

Qualifications & Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Blackboard or learning management systems within higher-education environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience in system administration, integrations, training delivery, and functional-technical support, with applicable certifications considered an advantage.

Language Requirement

Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (reading and writing) is required.
