Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Areas of Responsibility:

Clinical Duties

1. Conducts functional behavior assessments for behaviors targeted across settings (ASC Programs, Community and Group homes)
2. Develops Behavior Support Plans based on current research and literature in Behavior Analysis to ensure most current, appropriate technology is used.
3. Designs and coordinates the implementation of Behavior Support Plans/procedures ensuring compliance with ASC policies, Behavior Analysis Rule 65G-4, 65G-8 FAC and appendix G.
4. Presents assigned Behavior Support Plans to LRC, as required to comply with Behavior Analysis Rule
65G-4, FAC and its follow-up requirements.
a. Sends copies to District 10, LRC Chairperson as scheduled.
b. Sends and obtains appropriate consents for Behavior Support Plan prior to implementation and informal behavior procedures; ensures appropriate consents are received from guardian and physician.
c. Sends a copy of Behavior Support Plan to Support Coordinator with all approved consents.
5. Ensures behavior goals are written and distributed to appropriate persons.
6. Ensures consistent implementation of all Behavior Plans, procedures and goals.
7. Models appropriate behavioral procedures, teaching techniques and interventions to stakeholders across settings.
8. Participates in the design of skill acquisition programs to ensure appropriate behavioral techniques are utilized.
9. Conducts Behavior Management Review meetings as required.
10. Assists by ensuring the environment is conducive to optimal growth and development of clients.
11. Provides feedback regarding potential environmental antecedents of problem behavior.
12. Considers the logistical and practical variables when making clinical decisions.

Documentation and Recordkeeping


1. Creates approved plans; ensures accurate documentation is completed in a timely manner.
2. Completes behavior-related reports and logs (e.g., Reactive Strategies, quarterlies, IP, service logs, visit logs, etc.) in a timely manner.
3. Produces and distributes graphs of data collected on goals as consistent with ASC policies.
4. Reports on Case Record Review and Program Quality Reviews

Training and Staff Management


1. Conducts training and recertification in Behavior Management, Reactive Strategies, etc. as scheduled.
2. Provides in-service training on Behavior Plans, procedures, goals, etc. utilizing appropriate training methods.
3.4. Delivers feedback to staff that is clear and constructive to support ASC policies.
5. Participates in Parent Training Workshops throughout the year. (Minimum 2 per year)

Departmental Duties

1. Participates in all Meetings related to behavior that are applicable.
2. Collaborates with SLP’s, OT’s and PT’s to ensure consistency of interventions.
3. Reports on Case Record Review and Program Quality Reviews.
4. Maintains open communications with, Practice Administrator, Director, Managers, Supervisors, etc.
5. concerning client progress, and concerns, problems, ideas, changes, etc.
6. Maintains flexibility in schedule to cover meetings, resident observation, trainings, etc.

Supervisor Responsibilities

13. Performance Evaluations are completed utilizing Performance Logs, Merit & Disciplinary Action Statements, comparison to previous evaluations soliciting input from peers & individuals served, distributes & reviews supervisor rating sheet.
14. Ensures performance evaluations are thorough, complete and that the review is effective.
15. Ensures applicant interviewing is effective thorough & legal.
16. Updates job descriptions as job duties and responsibilities change for staff.
17. Follows Five Star Values and Staff Motto. Provides Staff / Parent/ Guardian training where appropriate and necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Primary duties are in an office or residential environment with moderate noise levels.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related field preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related area, with significant experience managing a caseload and supervising therapists.
2. Active certification from the BACB required (BCBA, BCaBA, CBA)
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and related disabilities; experience working with the specific population of individuals applying to work with (i.e., adults for Med Waiver and ICF) (Preferred)
4. Clinical experience conducting assessments, developing intervention plans and programs, supervising clinical staff, monitoring progress, and completing regulatory progress reports.
5. Experience in supervising a Registered Behavior Staff and providing staff training.
