Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Job Description

Definition:

As part of Nexus Solutions for Autism (NSFA), it is the responsibility of the BCBA to provide the following services:

-Must be licensed to practice in the state of Oklahoma

Your job responsibilities will include:

This Job will have clients in the Moore/Norman area!

Maintaining a caseload of clients, training and supervising the RBTs providing service to those clients, providing parent training, maintaining client programming and data, updating client progress regularly, meeting deadlines for funder reporting, supervising BCBA-candidates, attending company meetings, leading team meetings for each client, and ensuring timely documentation of billable hours for each client. Both billable and non-billable time are components of weekly job expectations as they equate to providing high quality service for our clients.The administrative team will provide support with determining a weekly schedule to meet client needs and provide a high quality working environment for you.

Caseloads will vary depending on experience level, ability to supervise BCBAs-in-training, and other special project requirements based on time.

Reports to:

Lead BCBA/Clinical Director

Supervision Over:
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and Behavior Technicians (BTs)

Salary:

In order to better compensate our BCBA’s we’ve split up our pay structure into salary and commission. To be a salaried employee, BCBAs are required to work a minimum of 13 billable hours per week AND a minimum of 12 non-billable hours per week for a total of 25 hours/week, minimum. Every billable hour worked over the required 13 hours each week will be paid to the employee as commission

Travel reimbursement:
Employees are responsible for logging their travel in order to be reimbursed for mileage each pay period. Mileage will be reimbursed at the annual rate set forth by the state.

Benefits:

  • Salaried employees qualify for medical benefits with a portion of the medical insurance costs covered by the employer.
  • Professional liability coverage is also provided by the employer. A yearly stipend of $500 for continuing education is provided as well, which is sufficient to cover the BACB requirements.

Paid Time Off (PTO):
Accrual: Salaried BCBAs qualify for two weeks of paid time off, plus 6 holidays each year.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Possess a minimum of a Masters degree or national equivalent with a major in psychology, special education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Have obtained certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) as verified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and any state licensure as available.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with various special needs.

Knowledge of:

  • Appropriate behavioral intervention strategies
  • Learning theories and instructional methods
  • Ethics, laws, and regulations of acceptable behavior interventions
  • Developmental processes of children, adolescents, and adults
  • Interpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situations
  • Technology, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ABA software platforms
  • Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • Assess situations and make proper judgments
  • Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner
  • Objectively analyze crisis situations
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Handle aggressive and self-injurious behaviors of clients
  • Communicate effectively and make recommendations to various agency staff and outside professionals, groups, or individuals
  • Perform general clerical duties including maintain accurate client records and preparing clear and concise reports
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form with a diverse group of clients, parents/caregivers, school personnel, and other agency staff
  • Use a computer and behavioral software to prepare documents and maintain client records
  • Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
  • Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance own professional development
  • Work with a diverse team of professionals in a respectful manner
  • Supervise clients during treatment sessions

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion criminal history background check
  • Satisfactory reference checks
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Job Duties:

  • Provide direct behavioral services to clients in individual and group sessions
  • Oversee ABA home programs and provide parent training and support
  • Complete weekly program writing and maintain client’s programming (including writing programs and creating materials)
  • Running monthly clinic/progress meetings with parents/guardians
  • Provide monthly updates to client progress towards goals detailed in treatment plan
  • Conduct behavioral and skills assessments and design treatment programs for clients
  • Work with and oversee Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts and Registered Behavior Technicians to implement individualized treatment plans as per agency standards and BACB requirements
  • Monitor performance of BCaBAs and RBTs toward company standards and personal goals
  • Collect data and graph data as instructed using TotalABA and other methods as desired/needed
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies
  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations arise
  • Knowledge of medical billing for ABA and navigating insurance is preferred
  • Communicate client progress and cases to Lead BCBA
  • Be able to work with a diverse team of professionals to provide the best behavioral services possible to clients
  • Attend staff trainings and agency meetings voluntarily
  • Other job duties as assigned by Lead BCBA

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Attend and successfully complete the following prior to beginning job (Failure to successfully complete these trainings can jeopardize the ability to be employed at the agency):
  • New staff orientation
  • SafetyCare (Crisis Intervention Training) program course offered by the agency and renew certification annually
  • First Aid/CPR/AED training provided by the agency and renew certifications as needed
  • HIPAA/HITECH/FERPA Training
  • Use of data collection, email, and document storage systems training
  • 8-hour Supervisor Training as required by the BACB

Pay: $72,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
