Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on boats using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance including engine tune-ups, oil changes, and system inspections to ensure optimal vessel performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters to complete repairs accurately.
- Fabricate or modify parts using sheet metal, welding techniques, and fabrication tools to meet specific vessel requirements.
- Conduct rigging tasks involving assembly, disassembly, and adjustment of rigging components to ensure safety and stability.
- Interpret schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot wiring issues; perform soldering and electrical repairs as needed.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely by following proper procedures; support vessel assembly or disassembly projects.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction with the work performed.
Experience
- Proven service technician experience in marine or vehicle maintenance environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, soldering techniques, sheet metal work, and fabrication processes.
- Experience working with heavy lifting equipment and performing maintenance on complex machinery or vehicles.
- Background in military maintenance or technical training is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; electrical experience is highly valued.
