Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Boatyard Helper to join our team. In this role, you will assist with the maintenance, repair, and preparation of boats and marine equipment. Your energetic approach and willingness to learn will help ensure smooth operations at our boatyard facility. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills in marine maintenance and fabrication while supporting essential projects.

Duties

• Assist with the cleaning, sanding, painting, and general upkeep of boats and marine vessels
• Support rigging and assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools to prepare boats for launch or storage
• Help with heavy lifting and moving of boats, equipment, and materials around the yard safely and efficiently
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers to assist in minor repairs or modifications
• Support basic electrical work including soldering, wiring, or troubleshooting using schematics and ohmmeters
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment by properly storing tools, parts, and supplies
• Follow safety protocols during all activities to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and team members

Skills

• Experience with service technician tasks or mechanical work is highly desirable
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and heavy machinery operation
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, and precision measuring instruments effectively
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance or marine rigging techniques is a plus
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to perform basic assembly or fabrication tasks
• Customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking during yard activities
