Boba Tea Shift Lead

Wonder Cha Tea Place is looking for tea and coffee enthusiasts who are passionate about crafting yummy drinks and great customer service!

*Prior Boba Barista experience required to be considered. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.*

This is the very first location and a dream project of the owner, and she hopes to build a team of people who will not only be coming with an open-to-learning-everything mindset, but also be willing to build a healthy, welcoming, and inclusive environment among the staff.

Our boba baristas and shift leads are responsible for preparing and serving specialty drinks and creating a welcoming environment for all of our customers. Our mission is to add a little bit of joy and wonder to everyone's day-to-day lives. Come join us!

✨ Position: Boba Tea Shift Lead

Location: 10401 Venice Blvd, Suite 102, Los Angeles, CA 90034 (near Culver City)

⏰ Hours: Part Time Shifts (4-8 hour Shifts Available)

• must be able to dedicate at least 20 hours/week
• must be available to start ASAP
• must be able to commit to at least 6 months

We are currently looking to fill the following schedule. Candidates who cannot fulfill ALL of these slots will not be considered:

• Thursday 9:30am-3:30pm, Saturday 4:30pm-10:30pm, Sunday 3:30pm-9:30pm.
• There will be some shifts outside of these slots which will be optional and available, depending on your availability and preferred number of hours/week.

What You'll Do: (both Barista and Shift Lead responsibilities outlined below)

Your Barista Responsibilities:

• Craft a variety of delicious boba tea drinks with precision and creativity
• Prep ingredients (cooking boba, prepping purees, making concentrates)
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service with a smile
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and welcoming for customers, tasks including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dishes, deep cleaning of equipment, and taking out refuse.
• Work as part of a fun, fast-paced team to keep orders flowing smoothly

Your Shift Lead Responsibilities:

• Opening/Closing: ensuring opening and closing is performed correctly and according to checklists, as well as assign tasks accordingly to non-shift leads
• Team Supervisions: guide team members during prep, rush, and cleaning periods; be able to answer team members' questions
• Ongoing Prep: Ensure workflow and tasks are prioritized appropriately
• Customer Experience: set the standard of customer service, resolve customer complaints or special requests, ensure drink quality and consistency throughout your shift
• Operations and Communications: Communicate with the owner about any issues: low stock, call-outs, equipment problems, etc; ensure fellow employees are taking their required breaks and at the optimal times
• Cleanliness: Ensure food safety practices are being followed, cleaning tasks are being completed, and workspaces are clean at all times
• Training: Train new hires and provide feedback to peers when something is missed
• Leadership: Lead the shift and set an example for your fellow team members, be the first one to step up and last one to step out; set a positive, motivated attitude

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous boba barista experience REQUIRED
• Positive, energetic, and open-to-learning anything attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for boba tea, customer service, and yummy drinks in general
• Ability to lift, move, or up to 25lb on a regular basis and up to 50lb on an occasional basis
• Ability to remain positive with guests, even during stressful situations
