Bobtail Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Bobtail Driver to join our transportation team. In this role, you will operate specialized tractor-trailer units known as bobtails, delivering freight efficiently and safely across designated routes.

You will be required to handle freight and maintain time management skills to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate bobtail trucks equipped with automatic transmissions, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling of freight.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
• Follow designated routes for delivery and pick-up, adjusting plans as needed based on traffic or operational requirements
• Document delivery details accurately in logs and reports, including mileage, cargo specifics, and any incidents during transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the truck to ensure optimal operation

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license - with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with bobtail trucks
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks
• Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or freight loads preferred
• Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary
• Knowledge of route planning and delivery procedures for efficient transportation
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
