Bobtail Driver

The Bobtail Driver is to deliver gasoline and/or diesel in large quantities while operating a vehicle efficiently and safely while maintaining the company’s standards for excellent customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate bobtail tanker in a safe manner
• Load, transport and deliver gasoline to and from specific locations while obeying all federal, state and local laws related to commercial hazmat transportation
• Provide excellent customer service in a professional and ethical manner
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure proper operation
• Maintain daily driving logs to record miles driven and number of stops
• Accurately complete daily delivery paperwork
• Must abide by all company performance policies including driver safety and delivery accuracy

Minimum Qualifications

• Class A or B commercial license with hazmat, tanker and airbrakes endorsement
• Clean driving record
• Flexibility to be a TEAM PLAYER and participate in efforts that are needed to benefit the company and accomplish unscheduled necessary projects and tasks
• License and vehicle to drive to and from work
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to best serve the customer
• Ability to work full shifts including flex weekend schedule if necessary

Required Skills/Abilities

• Solid judgement along with decision making skills
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers

Physical Requirements

• Maneuver hoses weighing up to 50 pounds overhead to deliver product
• Repetitive climbing in and out of vehicle as well as occasional climbing of stairs/ladders
• Repetitive squatting and bending for removal of drop and vapor lids weighing up to 20 pounds
• Must be able to travel frequently
• Prolonged periods of sitting
