Body Shop Prepper

Join our dynamic auto body repair team as a Body Shop Prepper, where your skills will set the foundation for flawless vehicle restorations! In this energetic role, you will prepare vehicles for repair by performing essential cleaning, sanding, masking, and surface preparation tasks. Your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude will ensure that every vehicle is ready for the skilled technicians to deliver top-quality results. Duties

  • Thoroughly clean and inspect vehicles to identify areas requiring prep work or repairs
  • Use hand tools and power tools to sand, grind, and smooth surfaces in preparation for painting or repairs
  • Mask off areas using tape and masking paper to protect surfaces during painting or sanding processes
  • Operate airless paint sprayers and buffing equipment to ensure smooth finishes on repaired surfaces
  • Assist with auto glass removal and installation as needed during the prep process
  • Handle heavy lifting safely when moving vehicles or parts within the shop
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored and ready for use

Skills

  • Prior dealership experience or auto body shop background highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of auto painting techniques, including airless spray systems and buffing methods
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and auto restoration equipment
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto glass installation
  • Experience with welding, auto estimating, or auto detailing is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members

Pay: $49,402.55 - $59,495.54 per year
