The body technician repairs bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications, using hand tools, power tools, framing & welding equipment, measuring systems and all other Body Shop necessary tools.
Responsibilities
- Determine and repair damaged parts
- Perform welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operations
- Communicate status of repairs clearly to body shop manager
- Communicate with parts department to obtain necessary parts
- Document all repairs performed
- Document all materials used
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous waste
- Ensure customer’s cars are kept clean
- Stay up to date on the latest repair methods and techniques for the vehicles sold and serviced by the dealership
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 Years experience required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
- Supply your own hand tools
- State license
- I-Car training is a plus
- Team and Customer focused attitude
- Working knowledge of shop equipment
