- To receive the vehicle / fleet physically from the driver and check the repair / maintenances work to be carried out as per job card.
- To allocate the fleets to different denters/painters inside the terminal based on the priorities.
- To inspect personally wherever the parts are required to be replaced and approve for the mechanics to go ahead and get the parts from stores or raise a purchase request in case the parts are not available.
- To allocate the fleets to the electrician, tire man /disc man or the cleaner wherever there is any electrical or tire repairs and internal cleaning is required.
- To ensure that the quality, health and safety standards are followed in the terminal and all staff are well equipped with the personal protective equipment.
- To ensure that the overall environment in the terminal is healthy
- To incorporate the incentive grades in JD for the subordinate employees working in the terminal.
- To report to the higher management about the performance of the employees and productivity of the terminal.
- To ensure that the vehicles / fleets are released from terminal after conducting all necessary checks for the jobs done and forward the fleet to quality controller for inspection and approval/rejection.
- To coordinate with the quality controller for fleets rejected by the quality controller with some additional work to be completed. This is to ensure that all the job of repair/maintenance are selected in JD as well in order to avoid any under invoicing to the customers.
- To coordinate with 2nd hand purchase for the verification of 2nd hand items purchased which are under 3 days warranty.
- To ensure that any such 2nd hand items are tested and informed to purchase department immediately in case the part is not working.
- To ensure that the standard operating procedures for the workshop are followed.
- To monitor the back log and arrange to clear it regularly.
- Manage and develop all aspect of the bodyshop and its personnel in an effective and profitable manner.
- Review the current bodyshop of the and draw up a plan to modernize and replan the entire workshop in the current and/or other locations so the it is in accordance with the best practices and can expand for business needs in the foreseeable future.
- Analyse current technical and administrative processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement of the workshop and implement the same.
- Directly responsible to meet bodyshop productivity and quality goals.
- Plan and develop systems to improve the operating quantity and efficiency of the bodyshop
- Proactively implement health and safety work policies for all levels of the bodyshop personnel.
- Ensure that the bodyshop is adequately staffed to achieve objectives and continuously monitor the same in coordination with HRD.
- Coordinate automotive repair and maintenance services to obtain optimal utilization of automotive equipment and prevent operational delays.
- Facilitate the training and development of team members in the department by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their performance.
- Provide continual advice and technical assistance to the team members.
- Ensure that all contractual procedures are administered and managed in the accordance to workshop and group policies and procedures.
- Oversee the generation of monthly technical and administrative reports and other management information systems for senior management review.
- Implement procedures to record, monitor and evaluate work related setbacks and appropriate course of actions.
- Coordinate with the procurement for parts and manage parts requirement in a professional and proactive manner at all times.
- Take on other ad-hoc general managerial tasks as required and delegated by senior management.
- Any other jobs assigned by the Senior Service Manager.
