Responsibilities
Financial Management
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking relationships.
Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
Prepare and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
Oversee company credit lines, bonding capacity, and banking compliance.
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation regularly to ensure all accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to support budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including statements aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to streamline bookkeeping tasks.
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations through detailed recordkeeping and reporting.
- Support payroll processing, tax filings, and audit preparations with precise documentation and data analysis.
- Perform general ledger reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain the integrity of financial data.
- Assist with budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and revenue trends to inform strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of job costing in the construction industry.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and journal entry preparation.
- Experience in public accounting or technical accounting roles is advantageous.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks accurately under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes along with experience in financial report writing is preferred.
- Strong understanding of debits & credits, 10 key typing skills for data entry accuracy, and familiarity with payroll processing.
