Duties
- Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms to record transactions, generate reports, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Conduct payroll processing and tax-related tasks, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental regulations.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including budgeting, financial statement writing, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and a host of other requests.
- Support special projects related to governmental or nonprofit accounting requirements as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and double-entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Expertise in bank reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Knowledge of governmental or nonprofit accounting practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform precise account reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable efficiently.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax compliance, and financial report writing.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
