About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Booking Coordinator (Shipping - Entry level) to manage daily booking operations with carriers and customers. The role involves securing vessel space in advance, maintaining accurate booking records, coordinating with clients, resolving booking-related issues, and collaborating closely with internal teams and shipping lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Vessel Slots: Reserve container slots with carriers according to the annual booking plan, ensuring availability in advance.
- Daily Booking Updates: Maintain and update booking information in systems/sheets daily with 100% accuracy.
- Customer Coordination: Liaise with clients to understand booking requirements and ensure timely container arrangements.
- Customer Support: Act as the primary contact for booking-related queries, responding promptly and following up as needed.
- Issue Escalation: Address shipping line concerns such as mis-rated bookings, equipment shortages, and discrepancies.
- Operational Reporting: Provide regular updates to management regarding booking challenges, bottlenecks, risks, and recommended solutions.
- Vendor & Tariff Maintenance: Create, update, or deactivate vendor contracts, freight rates, and price lists in the system as needed.
- Invoice Review & Disputes: Verify freight invoices for accuracy and manage disputes with carriers when discrepancies arise.
Requirements
- 0–1 year experience in shipping, preferably in ocean export bookings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Tagalog-speaking female candidates preferred.
