Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting software and financial concepts, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and complex transactions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting both corporate and non-profit accounting functions, while maintaining compliance with GAAP standards. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining precise financial records, preparing reports, and supporting overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with financial report writing for management review.
- Conduct payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions accurately.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and best practices in double entry bookkeeping.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and general ledger reconciliation tasks.
- Support governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all financial transactions and support audit preparations when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other relevant platforms.
- Experience in Home Care Book Keeping in Arizona is a plus.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and technical accounting concepts.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes, payroll management, tax experience, and budget preparation.
- Ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10 key typing for data entry accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration with team members.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; relevant work experience is highly valued. This position provides an essential role within our organization by ensuring precise financial management and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
Pay: Up to $15,000.00 per year
