Bookkeeper

We are a new e-commerce boutique looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our Shopify financials. You will be responsible for reconciling daily transactions and ensuring our accounting software accurately reflects our business health. We are looking for someone who enjoys building clean, organized financial systems from the ground up.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of how Shopify interacts with accounting platforms (QuickBooks or Xero) and is comfortable working with third-party integration tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconciliation: Perform daily/weekly reconciliation of Shopify payments, PayPal, and other gateways against bank statements.
• Inventory Management: Track COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) and monitor inventory valuation within the accounting system.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly Balance Sheets, P&L statements, and Cash Flow reports.
• Sales Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate tracking of sales tax collected across different jurisdictions.
• Expense Tracking: Categorize business expenses, including shipping costs, marketing spend (Meta/Google Ads), and app subscriptions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of bookkeeping experience specifically for Shopify-based businesses.
• Software Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of QuickBooks Online or Xero.
• Tech Stack: Familiarity with A2X, Link My Books, or similar clearing-account tools is highly preferred.
• E-commerce Literacy: Understanding of digital wallets, chargebacks, and refund processing.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets and high-volume transaction logs.
• Communication: Fluent in English (written and verbal) for clear reporting and coordination.
