Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform general ledger accounting and reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect all financial transactions accurately.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliation to verify account balances.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting requirements by adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards.
- Generate detailed financial reports, including budget analysis, account analysis, and financial report writing.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks such as general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of tax filings, audit documentation, and other regulatory reports.
- Support budgeting activities by providing relevant data for financial planning.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately for data entry tasks.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing and account analysis to support management decision-making.
- Attention to detail in reconciling accounts and maintaining precise records for audits or reviews.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
