Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper to manage our accounts receivable and accounts payable and bank reconciliations. We are working with NYC-based RBSM to audit our consolidated financial statements.

Our business involves the sale of premium food products into wholesale channels to top retailers in the country, online and in our company-owned & operated stores. Our CEO is an accountant-trained, corporate lawyer as his spouse who works closely with the business.

We are looking for a high-energy person extremely skilled on Quickbooks and Excel and can help us maintain our accounting books.

This position can continue as is or the right candidate can grow with the position by taking on new and higher levels of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Verify, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Bank reconciliations
• Invoice retail chain customers
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Skills

• Being a self-starter and alert
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Hands-on experience with accounting software QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
• AS degree or higher in Accounting
