Part-Time Bookkeeper
Midwest-Tek, Inc. – New Albany, IN 5–10 Hours per Week | Hybrid (Occasional In-Office Required) $25 – $35 per Hour (Based on Experience)
Midwest-Tek, Inc., a plastics injection molding company specializing in customized parts for a wide range of industries, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of the business.
This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeping professional who can work independently with minimal supervision, maintain clean and accurate financial records, and ensure the integrity of data within the accounting system. The role offers flexibility with a hybrid work structure, while still requiring occasional in-office presence in New Albany, Indiana.
Position Overview
The Part-Time Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting day-to-day accounting functions using QuickBooks Online. This role plays a key part in ensuring that financial data remains accurate, organized, and ready for reporting and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records within QuickBooks Online
· Properly record and classify all financial transactions
· Ensure general ledger accuracy and consistency
Accounts Payable
· Enter and process vendor invoices
· Schedule and prepare payments based on due dates and cash flow
· Maintain organized vendor records
Accounts Receivable
· Generate and send customer invoices
· Record and apply incoming payments
· Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist with follow-up as needed
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations
· Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts
· Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
Payroll Processing
· Process full payroll through QuickBooks Online Payroll
· Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of wage and tax reporting
· Coordinate payroll-related filings as required
Inventory Support (Light)
· Assist with basic inventory-related entries and adjustments
· Support accurate tracking within the accounting system
Financial Reporting Support
· Maintain clean and reliable data for financial reporting
· Assist management by ensuring reports generated in QuickBooks are accurate and meaningful
Year-End & CPA Coordination
· Assist in preparing records and reports for external accountant
· Maintain organized documentation for tax preparation
Qualifications
· Prior bookkeeping experience required
· Strong experience with QuickBooks Online required
· Experience with payroll processing required
· Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations
· Experience in manufacturing, product-based, or inventory environments preferred
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· High level of integrity and confidentiality
Work Schedule
· 5 to 10 hours per week
· Flexible schedule based on company needs
· Hybrid role with occasional in-office work required in New Albany, IN
Compensation
· $25 to $35 per hour, based on experience and expertise
