Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the organization’s financial health. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and maintaining the general ledger.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while verifying accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms to record financial data accurately.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental reporting requirements.
  • Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and assisting in financial planning activities.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards such as GAAP and governmental accounting regulations.
  • Collaborate with auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial records.

Experience

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within corporate or non-profit settings.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
  • Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations relevant to nonprofit or corporate entities.
  • Experience handling accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively through written reports.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with excellent organizational skills; proficiency in 10-key typing is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working with financial software that supports account analysis, budget tracking, and general ledger reconciliation.
