Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to support our local, family-owned and operated property management business based in Lebanon, Tennessee. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records for our company, rental properties, owners, tenants, vendors, and related business operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working in QuickBooks, and the ability to keep financial records organized, accurate, and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have bookkeeping experience, strong communication skills, and an understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Experience with property management, real estate, rental accounting, or owner/tenant ledgers is a strong plus. Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Record and categorize income, expenses, owner payments, vendor payments, and other business transactions.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including tracking invoices, payments, deposits, and outstanding balances.
  • Assist with rent-related bookkeeping, owner distributions, management fees, maintenance charges, and tenant/owner account activity.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and transaction reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain organized records for vendors, tenants, owners, properties, invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Prepare basic financial reports to assist management with reviewing business and property-related financial activity.
  • Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping, tax documentation, and year-end reporting as needed.
  • Communicate with management regarding missing information, discrepancies, unpaid invoices, or account questions.
  • Support general administrative and bookkeeping tasks related to property management operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.
  • Strong understanding of debits and credits, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience with property management, real estate, rentals, owner statements, tenant ledgers, or vendor billing is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately categorize transactions and maintain clean, organized financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors or inconsistencies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with management, vendors, owners, or tenants when needed.
  • Experience with payroll, tax preparation support, or year-end reporting is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
