Job Title: Bookkeeper

Job Description

Loeffler Financial Group is a full-service, family-owned accounting firm providing tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and consulting services to individuals and small to mid-sized businesses across multiple states.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have prior experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Record and process transactions using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, FreshBooks, and other accounting platforms
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Post journal entries and review general ledger activity
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reporting
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation
  • Review balance sheet accounts and perform account analysis
  • Assist with sales tax, payroll tax, and other compliance-related tasks
  • Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and missing information
  • Support budgeting and reporting needs for business, nonprofit, or governmental clients as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience is required
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage, or similar software preferred
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Ability to complete bank reconciliations and account reconciliations accurately
  • Payroll experience is a plus
  • Tax preparation experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, or governmental accounting is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and team members
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Proficiency with data entry and 10-key typing preferred
