Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant — In-Office Position

Loeffler Financial Group is growing rapidly, and we are looking to add motivated bookkeeping and accounting talent to our team.


We are a full-service, family-owned accounting firm providing tax, bookkeeping, payroll, consulting, and business advisory services to individuals and small to mid-sized businesses across multiple states.


This position is ideal for someone with bookkeeping or accounting experience, a recent accounting graduate, or someone seeking a full- or part-time opportunity with a growing firm.


This is not a remote position. The role is based in our Lancaster, PA office.


What We’re Looking For


We are looking for detail-oriented, energetic people who want to learn, grow, and be part of a firm that is expanding. Prior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience is strongly preferred, but we are also open to recent accounting graduates who have a strong foundation and the right work ethic.


Responsibilities


  • Record and process transactions using QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other accounting platforms
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Post journal entries and review general ledger activity
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reporting
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation
  • Review balance sheet accounts and perform account analysis
  • Assist with sales tax, payroll tax, and other compliance-related tasks
  • Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping questions and missing information


Qualifications


  • Prior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience preferred
  • Recent accounting, finance, or business graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Experience working in an accounting firm is a plus
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar accounting software preferred
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping
  • Payroll or tax preparation experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and team members
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
