Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team! Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure financial accuracy.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare journal entries, perform account analysis, and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Reconcile accounts through double-entry bookkeeping, ensuring all debits & credits are correctly recorded.
- Support payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and preparing detailed financial statements for internal review.
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks including bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to ensure data integrity.
- Handle administrative duties such as managing correspondence, filing documents, and supporting office operations with professionalism.
- Utilize technical accounting skills to support special projects related to financial software upgrades or process improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus!
- Familiarity with financial concepts like double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Experience in bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing, and tax preparation.
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently with high accuracy for data entry tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative functions.
- Strong communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams.
- Prior experience working in public accounting or with financial software such as QuickBooks or Sage is highly desirable.
