Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team. Duties
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar financial tools
- Prepare and record journal entries accurately, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial statements and reports
- Assist with payroll processing and tax-related documentation to ensure compliance with governmental regulations
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial reports for management review
- Maintain organized financial records, including account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger documentation
- Provide administrative support such as data entry (including 10 key typing), filing, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and financial concepts
- Experience with governmental accounting procedures and tax compliance is preferred
- Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks accurately and efficiently
- Familiarity with financial report writing and account analysis techniques
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing
- Basic knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
- Strong communication skills for collaborating across teams and documenting financial processes confidently
- Minimum one year experience in QuickBooks
- Payroll experience required
